Music totally stolen from “Jerusalem” throughout. Not “inspired by” but stolen. For a composer to not hear that melodic phrase and know it as an ANCIENT and wondrous piece of choral music is criminal in itself.
It was so blatant that I thought there must be some sort of intentional homage behind it, or a twist to the film’s story, or I wondered if it was maybe something so simple as it being Snowden’s favourite old hymn? But despite extensive searching I couldn’t find any references to to any significance to it being placed there. At least it wasn’t literally “stolen”, being out of copyright since 1969.
whats about the track during the scene when ed passes the nsa security check post and there is a glimpse of happiness in his face for doing something good? i`ve been searching but no references. i think last few notes of this track (1:49-50) are from robindronath thakur`s `anondoloke mongolaloke birajo shottoshundoro`. please send your vibes. thanks from banladesh.
what`s about the track that played during the scene when ed pass the security check post with rubric’s cube and scene become white and blur? no references any where. i think last few notes are from rabindranath tagore`s `anondoloke mongolaloke` https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aBrdrJKuCM. please check this.
How come when I type in Snowden soundtrtack on YouTube or google and I find a completely different playlist. None of these songs are found on the other sound track from Snowden
are you sure? there are two official albums (which are the same for everybody, because the producers released them), and additional songs. are you talking about the additional songs?
Yeah I didn’t see the other two official soundtracks beneath the first one. Is there an album for the additional songs ??
unfortunately not. there is never an album for the additional songs
An instrumental track plays at the closing credits, right after Peter Gabriel’s Veil. I have heard it in a different version a long time ago, but with voices (not instrumental) and lyrics that I don’t remember.
Couldn’t find it among the incidental tracks from Craig Armstrong, or the songs in the OST.
Does anyone know that song?
hi, i’ve just seen snowden credits till the end… the music reminds me a long long time ago sound i have heard in Chariots of Fire soundtrack by vangelis… it seems to me “jerusalem” by vangelis piano version… i’m pretty sure it is!!!
Andrea, maaaaaan… just looked for it in YouTube, and you absolutely killed it!
Thank you, really – I was going crazy trying to identify that, and the song was playing nonstop in my head for the last couple of weeks. I even played it in the keyboard to my husband and a couple of friends, to no avail.
Grazie mille, you made this Brazilian very happy.
what song is playing about 1:30 into the movie? They’re sitting around a bonfire in Hawaii swapping work stories. Apparently, I know the words, but can’t remember the song…
Try “About to explode” – Luke Jenner. Took me a while to find it, too.
